We add 4 in of trim to every strip, 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom. Keep windows and doors in the width: the strips above and below them still need cutting from a roll.

How we count

Each strip is the wall height plus 4 in of trim. We divide the roll length by that to get the number of whole strips in one roll, and never join two pieces to make a strip.

The number of strips is the wall width divided by the roll width, rounded up. Rolls are strips divided by strips per roll, rounded up again.

The second answer adds 15% for pattern matching and the odd mistake. For a straight-match floral, order that one.
